I was wondering why there's different tag naming conventions for multi_* and multiple_*, seen on multi_limb.

I would think it would be cleaner/"correct" if anything that said multi_* was changed/aliased to multiple_*? Such as multiple_limbs, multiple_head(s), etc?

It's just something I noticed today that bothered me slightly; I would love to know if there's a certain reason why these tags are the way they are.

There isn't really one. It was actually even more all over the place a few months ago (multi-anus, multiple_arms, multi_cock, multiple_penises, etc. I don't actually remember if the last was in use, but you get the idea). We've been starting to use multiple_* for more non-body part tags (multiple_scenes) but there isn't really one convention; most have been taken on a case-by-case basis.

That being said, I support the idea of moving a few over to be consistent (shorter and singular if possible).

Edit - A few that we could probably move:

• multiple_tails -> multi_tail
• multiple_arms -> multi_arm
• multiple_legs -> multi_leg
• multiple_ears -> multi_ear
• multiple_tongues -> multi_tongue
• multiple_mouths -> multi_mouth

Unsure:

• multiple_eyes - multi_eye and multi_eyes don't really sound right to me.
• multiple_penetration/multi_penetration/multiple_insertions/multiple_insertion - These conflict with other similar tags, but aren't as widely used.
• multi_fuck - I don't even. Cleared out.

I like the sound of them all in multi_* terms, and while it's not grammatically correct, it is shorter in the end. But yeah, multi_eye sounds weird.. Maybe it should stay multiple_eyes and that should be the only exception.

As for those several penetration/insertion tags, alias them all to multi_insertion/penetration? Those both sound "correct" to me, so either goes (and I don't think there's a big difference between "insertion" and "penetration").

Roughly:

Insertion - Tentacles, dildos, people (no fists or fingers)
Penetration - Tentacles, dildos, penises, people (no fists or fingers)

So essentially we just don't tag insertion for penises (or fists/fingers technically). Currently, the more specific double_penetration/triple_penetration (any combination of anal/vaginal/oral) are used much more than multiple_penetration for this. Technically we could imply those through multiple_penetration, but I'm just not sure is all.

Semi-related: It looks like multi_fuck is being used when 2 penises from the same character are penetrating another character. I'm not really sure what to do with this one.

I've made the following changes:

• A bunch of multiple_* -> multi_* aliases
• Moved the multiple_* related implications to their multi_ variant
• Went through the wikis and changed what I could find to multi_*
