Topic: Cthulhu, Dranaei, Eastern Dragon Whiskers/Tendrils

Posted under Tag/Wiki Projects and Questions

would it be worthwhile creating a new tag specifically for those fleshy protrusions on the face or muzzle of some species that may fulfill the same propose as whiskers but arnt actually whiskers or even look like whiskers as we know from animals like cats and dogs?

At the moment on eastern dragons for example some tag them as whiskers while others tag as tendrils, the former as stated above seem ill fitting while tendrils alone seems a bit too generalized for searching

And what of "Leeku's"?

Face_tentacles is alright. Though I'd rather we use face_tendrils since tentacles usually means they're capable of some form of independent movement.

lekku = head_tentacles/head_tendrils, easy peasy.

"non-whisker" whiskers have been on my todo list for a while, but I never figured out what to do with them. Tagging them as tendrils is definitely too general. At least we need something like "tendril_whiskers". Note that these can be both "fleshy" and "hairy/furry" whiskers, and sometimes more like a mustache rather than anything else (which almost always applies to traditional eastern dragons).

What if they are capable of independent movement? Nah, probably not an issue to bother about, unless we want to make things complicated and use both, or be sane and use a lot of additional "prehensile" tags.

Lekku refer to "Big fat hair tendrils" though. I suppose what Asari have would qualify as Lekku, but that doesn't cover wiskers, bears, and other sorts of tentacles/tendrils on the head.

I also never knew they were called Lekku until now. I just said "Their hair things."

Just dumping flesh_whiskers here.

just posting so i dont forget it.

head_tail & head_tails, found recently, opinions for using these for draenei head tendrils and head stocks(Lekku) specific to some species within star wars and hybrids based on such?

and i think flesh_whiskers would be good for the uses for which i originaly made the op concerning eastern dragons and the like. not sure about barbels sence they tend to be short barb like protrusions, not tendrils.

While you're discussing this you all missed the most important error, they're called draenei, not dranaei.
