i'm trying to tag the artist of a picture i recently uploaded, but even when doing artist:jewel it still implicates it to the regular tag "gem". is this fixable?

No, you will have to use jewel_(artist) instead.

Also, please don't use the category prefixes when tagging unless it's absolutely necessary to switch the category.

EDIT: Okay, figured I'd tag it on that image where you were trying to add artist:jewel, but apparently somebody replaced it after I did so? I 'unno.
