hi there i wanted to ask if its a way to track an especific artist so i wont miss his next posts? im doing something like that faving one of his posts and then clicking on the artist name but i wanted to know if its a better way to have all my favorite artists in one place so i can see their posts

Privileged can do tag subscriptions, but you could do something like a search for art from any of a list of selected artists:

~exedrus ~backlash91 ~audrarius for example

And then bookmark that search (or put link to it in description in profile). Then by using that link you can see if there's anything new by any of those artists all at once.

If your list of tracked artists gets longer than the max simultaneous tags you can search, make secondary/tertiary/etc links.

May not be perfect, but lets you "track" multiple artists at once.

If you have an RSS reader you can also subscribe through that client to any search on the page. Firefox allows you to get the link from the bookmarks menu.

Why are tag subscriptions actually privileged? I feel they could be helping my searchings a lot if I'd be allowed to use them.

I'd assume when it was implemented they were worried that keeping all of that up-to-date would end up using up too much server resources. I have no idea if that's still relevant today, but I doubt it's very well-optimized for it.

It does say background process runs every 15 minutes on subscriptions. I could see how that might raise worries about server resources if too many people had them in use.

I've learnt away to upload pictures, and videos safely knowing it will be approved!

I just find an artist/s I like, and then go to their Source Account and find pics/videos that haven't been uploaded to e621 using the Reverse Search. :P
