Topic: Tag Implication: hippogryph -> hybrid

I think they count as their own species, like how a dragon ISN'T a bat/lizard hybrid, or how a platypus ISN'T a beaver/duck hybrid. So -1 on this and gryphon

I'm definitely against implicating it to equine, because they aren't always drawn very equine-like. I wouldn't mind it being implicated to avian though, because that's sort of a requirement.

Chimera is almost a special case because all of its dictionary definitions imply a hybrid combination of things. In fact, if it wasn't for the semi-standardized Greek goat-lion-serpent creature thing, it would be a good candidate for actually aliasing to hybrid (and probably would be if it were actually a Japanese term).

I concur.

And that reminds me, centaur is still implicated to human. It probably should be unimplicated: it's currently impossible to search for human/centaur pairings, and the recent trend has been to reserve the human tag for hundred percent humans (by moving animal ears to humanoid, etc).

This indeed. Chimeras are hybrids, hippogryphs are a species as much as dragon

I still have the urge to tag those both humanoid and feral. Though, I'm probably somewhat biased due to both my tendency to tag humanoid/anthro/feral and my inclination towards finding hidden posts with good equine anatomy.
