I have to agree here, based on TWYS. Action is more of a genre - a storyline in a way. Whereas a pose is something one can see in a single image.

Down to one. Because I'm not sure what's going on in post #38998.
The tag was a mix of fight, action_pose, attack, and... uh... 'action figures'. Probably not worth disambiguating, since it hadn't been tagged for a couple of years. Maybe someone had already cleaned the newest ones, or the users have started tagging action_pose instead. Since that's around the time it was created.
(By the way... Battle, fight, duel, and other related tags will have to be organized someday. There's no consistency to how those are currently tagged.)

That last image I can only think of tagging as "Explosion." Nothing else is coming to mind, but I'm also tired so that might be why.
