Topic: Thinking of getting a comission.

Posted under Art Talk

Hey, I'm thinking of getting an art comission for a character. Now, I've never done this before, so I thought I'd ask any artist out there; what do you HATE, dislike, like, and love when a request comes in?

I know everyone will be different, but still; please answer as best as you can. Thank you :)

You should get a commission from Ratte

Great art, low prices compared to others

Around 45-50 dollars for that.
The price is for consistent quality - if you're on our IRC channel, #e621, she'll even happily take the time to go over the parts of the art with you as she does it to ensure you like it.

Yes; an actual comission, not just going to annoy someone into drawing something up for me.

And I'm not asking who to get it from, I'm asking what do artists like and dislike in their comission requests.

Usually artists post their commission info/restrictions either on a section of their page , or in a commissions section on the site.

Remember, Ratte is a sfw artist, so keep that in mind.

-Be polite (mostly when they told you the price).
-Follow their rules (i.e. if they say no to lolis then don't insist and don't say it's a demon of a thousand years old).
-When explaining be as detailed as possible.
-Drawing takes it's time. If it's a birthday's gift or something like that then comission at least a month earlier if you want something well done and not rushed.

Thank you :) This is the sort of response I was looking for.
