Reason:

Same with flipnote_hatena -> flipnote_studio.
All tags basically mean work made with flipnote studio. Flipnote is the most used tag, but official name is flipnote studio.

Having seperate tags just makes it harder to find content. If someone wants to search for content made with particular version for some odd reason, it's pretty easy as they have fixed resolutions. 320x240 for 3DS, 256x192 for DSi.

All the posts under flipnote right now are done with either versions of flipnote studio.

If there at some point is post with physical flipnote, I though more official english word for that is actually flip book. Also aliasing flipnote to flipnote_studio makes it harder to make the mistake and accidental tag flipbook as flipnote.

Use:

• flipnote_studio (animation made with Flipnote Hatena (alias to nintendo too or nah?))
• flipbook (actual flipbook)

It's a tricky one because technically, all Flipnote animations are flipbooks :v
We might also need some clearer Wiki guidelines on this.

Also wasn't Hatena the online sharing component of the original DSi flipnote studio which was discontinued? I don't see that word used at all in 3DS version.

And big no to Nintendo implication. Flipnote studio is just a tool, not a character or a franchise. Source Filmmaker doesn't imply Valve, MS Paint doesn't imply Microsoft, Flash doesn't imply Adobe, etc.

Artist can do whatever they please with the tools they have, they can even draw dancing stick figure if they want to and that would have nothing to do with nintendo nor would those searching for nintendo stuff want to see a random dancing stick figure.

If we want to go for simplicity, we should alias flipnote/flipnote_studio to flipbook and call it a day.

...but that's not right at all! All current posts under those tags are done with flipnote studio, they have nothing to do with flipbooks!

If we go with simplicity, then my original suggestion would be the best one and if someone uploads something with an actual flipbook in it, it can be easily fixed.

Bumping because:

Flipnote: Only has flipnote studio animations under it, zero flipbooks.
Flipnote Studio: Only has flipnote studio animations under it, some which does not have flipnote tag, zero flipbooks.
Flipnote Hatena: Only has flipnote studio animations under it, some which does not have flipnote nor flipnote studio tags, zero flipbooks.

So all are still the same exact thing, there's absolutely zero flipbooks here. I'm trying to push this because recent my nintendo program basically allowed every 3DS owner to have flipnote studio for free, meaning more content will be done with that meaning harder to find said stuff when some use other tag and others the second one.

What Flipnote and Flipnote Studio are we talking about here?
If we're talking about the one that is owned by Nintendo under the copyright column.
