When I say this, I mean when and where would you imagine yourself being at any point in history.
However, here's the catch. You can't have any knowledge of how the future would turn out. You are simply living in a different time.

As for me, one place I may have been would've been the American Civil War. Why? Well, I have heritage stretching back to the Civil War South (Confederate history :D). So I likely would've been a Rebel.
(I swear if anyone starts an argument or heritage-shaming here I'm gonna lose my shit).
Another time and place I likely would've lived would've been colonial American times, living as a frontiersman. Both those things seem to suit my nature.

Yeah, most of man's history been that way. You know what I found? Since the start of WW1, every 25 years on the dot for the most part America's wound up in a major conflict. WW1, WW2, Vietnam, GUlf, ISIS war. The only exception was with Korea.

I would have gone blind (or at least nearly blind) at almost any time in history excluding the very recent modern era.

So with that in mind, about 400 million years ago. After the land had become populated, but not by much. There would be options to eat, though few, but no predators, since I would be the only large land animal. Also I would probably go insane from loneliness.

On the other hand, on the extremely off chance that my skeleton fossilized, whoever found it all those hundreds of millions of years later would be thoroughly confused.

On that note, I'd like to live wherever my skeleton would be the most likely to be fossilized.

Alternatively, I like the idea of being the wise blind elder of some primitive tribe. Maybe my odd interests would be forgiven in such a tribe too.

Speaking of that general time period, all of this stuff is awesome.

95 million years ago, where there were dinosaurs...I won't survive obviously. Anyways, I'm the kind of person that doesn't or wouldn't want to dwell in the past. So the perfect time for me is right now. But if I had to choose, it would be in the Cretaceous time period.

I am aware. I picked it mostly because of the fossilization possibility. If you'll notice I already mentioned that I would have trouble finding things to eat, and also insane loneliness thing.

Nephite civilization in North America, about 100 A.D. It was the center of trade in the western hemisphere and hugely prosperous until about 300 A.D. The art from that civilization (check out the Hopewell Indians) is amazing. But I wouldn't really like to live there permanently. I like where I am now, crazy as this world can be, because the rewards are greater than ever. Computers, bionics, and all areas of science get better all the time, and travel is easier than ever. It's pretty groovy. :)

Aw man, if only I was able to dominate the ancient times(more specifically the Middle Ages) with superior knowledge and modern technology.

A solo act would be ok, but for an entire army it would just be over the top and plain unfair.

Astigmatic? My eyes also seem to get worse with every passing year, to the point I've just started to consider myself permanently augmented with contacts....it's kind of depressing how incomplete and helpless it feels without them.

I honestly wouldn't rather be alive at any other time than now, the drugs and technology are beyond what anyone could have dreamed even 50 years ago - although I'd probably say the same thing if I was born then as well; it mostly comes down to acclimation during those early years of semantic growth. I think there was a Twilight Zone episode about a guy who wished he could relive his early life but with all his full-grown memories, and ended up fucking himself over by trying to invest in anachronisms. It's really all about initial conditioning

Of course, the best thing about living today, is that media has become so far disseminated that any music from any point in time has become more accessible than ever before in history. Which I always considered the most (only) important factor in my life. But from that standpoint, the three years which undoubtedly produced the highest quality, and I certainly would've loved to experience firsthand, were probably '72, '67, and '85

Welp, 95% of all places/times in the past sucked majorly due to one reason or another, so I guess I'd go back to the beginning of time, because why not~

Sure it's impossible to tell exactly when it all started, and if I'd even survive a second in the middle of the void, but ehh, I'd rather go back and attempt to see that then life in a time when the average life expectancy was like 50 or 60 something, assuming you're well off.

The actual specific condition is so rare that it would probably qualify as personally identifying information. So I'll avoid that!

The 80's so I can try getting into major game development companies.

I'd go for the late 1960s in Florida USA so I can witness the launch of Apollo 11 and its moon landing myself (as I didn't exist yet when that happened).

The buckle is only in one eye. The other one didn't have a detachment, but that can probably be attributed to preventative laser surgery. And in addition to the preventative surgery, I've had a fair bit of laser surgery to keep holes in the retina from growing any larger.

High middle ages are my jam. Love that period as it's filled with technological advancements + a chance to fight the advancing Ottoman threat.

o_O ancient egypt, cave wall graffiti. think i saw that on the history channel (well, one of them anyway) and it was one of the earliest known cases of ancient pornography. also saw in that same show that some museums would sometimes damage priceless artifacts by removing certain "parts" so as to not offend the more sensitive type. i'm not sure i agree with that practice. :/
