PVC is a plastic used for a variety of applications, such as the aforementioned as well as plumbing and construction. It varies in hardness and density (from rigid like PVC pipe to soft like rubber or latex), lending to its variety in use, so it's a vague term.

It's used consistently to describe what rubber is used for (and the material isn't something we'd usually tag anyways), so +1 from me.

Oh damn. I don't like this at all but I guess that's something to look out for.

I definitely think there should be a distinction made. Rubber is rubber, not always latex but usually signified by being very stretchy and such. PVC/vinyl, even when softened, isn't all that stretchy, they're just two completely different things that I don't think should be thrown in the same pot.

Don't ban me for tag vandalism pls. *cough*

Last I checked PVC was not he same thing as rubber. This is likely just a case of misconceptive tagging.

the thing is that telling rubber and pvc apart is pretty much impossible from drawn images. so instead of having fifty tags for something that looks identical in drawings, rubber is use as catch-all tag.

The following tags are ill-defined and need wiki reworks or consolidation.

Until either of these happen, I don't feel comfortable giving records to any user for mistagging these. Treat the root cause rather than report users who have no way of learning even if they receive a record.

Material tags are always messy. There's often no way to tell by twys exactly what it is supposed to be, so I don't see much point in keeping tags such as vinyl.

Much of 'vinyl' would fit well enough under rubber, and these should be re-tagged as record (since it already exists):

Might be subjective but I don't think it's hard to tell apart at all.
