Topic: Am I supposed to request to have my name attached to an artist tag?

Posted under Tag/Wiki Projects and Questions

I read something in a comment about this, idk where, as well as noticed the commission info block on the accounts page telling me it would become available once I was linked to a tag

I looked around for a thread about it, but I couldnt find anything so I'm asking here. I dont know how E621 does their thing too well beyond how to tag.

I have a tag under a slightly different alias as rypparoo, but I changed it up because I preferred this spelling more.

I'd like to do commissions at some point, I've just been doing things for friends and random suggestions up till now because I'm not too confident that anyone would want anything from me for what I've actually posted so far.
To have the commission info block available might be helpful in the future if I start making some more progress and gain some interest so I thought I would ask.

Well, whenever I see someone try to do an artist tag, that stays as a general, I use artist:*, asterisk indicating the name, and just edit in the needed sources before finishing the page. But, Ratte did mention something about not being allows to MAKE artist pages, so I wouldn't do that.

If any admin answers that, please also say if it's okay to use the artist: to "make" an artist tag, and then click the ? next to their tag and finish it up by adding sources.

You're welcome.

This is something we do manually.

Basically, you have to confirm your e621 account as actually being you, that way other people don't rip people off pretending to be you.
