Topic: Pearl Necklace?

Posted under Tag/Wiki Projects and Questions

So, as it currently stands the tag pearl_necklace is mostly pictures with actual pearl necklaces. I understand how it's supposed to be used, the sexual implications and the like, yet it seems that the community has sort of forgotten about the sexual version of this tag.

Out of the 126 or so images tagged this 103 of them are with actual pearl necklaces, of those about four, IIRC, actually have a sexual act which might also be considered giving someone a "pearl necklace," though that's a big "maybe."

Frankly, I feel that the term is outdated, no one uses it anymore and that has become all too obvious by the fact that ~82% of the tags with this tag are talking about the actual object and not the sexual act.

So I feel that the images with the sexual act need to be retagged to cum_on_neck or cum_on_chest, depending on which everyone would think is more accurate, and the definition of the pearl necklace tag should be changed to reflect the general consensus of the usage of the tag, ergo referring to the object itself. If needed perhaps implicate or alias it to necklace, as well.

Thoughts? I mean, it seems pretty obvious that the tag itself isn't being used as it's currently defined and that something should be changed, I feel that defining it as the object and retagging all the sexual acts as cum_on_neck or cum_on_chest, is the best way to handle this, yet that's just my opinion, I'd love to see what others have to say.

Personally I feel you are right as no one seems to know what it means in the sexual sense anymore, and I agree that retagging the act to cum_on_neck would be the best course of action and makes sense.

Hah, using this for cum_between_breasts, cum_on_neck, cum_on_chest, cum_on_breasts etc is ridiculous, not because the concept is ridiculous but because of calling it pearl necklace is. I agree 100%.

Buuuut, maybe this is such a widespread and commonly used colloquialism that it will get tagged for these themes despite what the wiki says?

The problem, however, is that it isn't a widespread and commonly used colloquialism. About ~18% of the posts using this tag are of the sexual act, not the item. Only ~18%, that's terrible.

As it stands the item "pearl necklace" is supposed to be tagged "pearl" and "necklace" according to the wiki, but the tag "pearl" isn't even a thing, you're supposed to actually tag "pearl_(gem)" and necklace.

So, sure, maybe a few would get accidentally tagged if the tag pearl necklace was changed to be just the item, yet as it stands tagging the actual item is something that's almost never done "properly" because no one ever seems to even consider using the "pearl_(gem)" tag and the "necklace" tag to tag it like it's supposed to be.

Yet how can you blame anyone? What normal user is going to go looking for the "right" pearl tag? I mean right now there's two tags that mean pearl the gemstone, one of them doesn't even have a filled out wiki page because people just put "pearl" as it says on the "pearl_necklace" page.

Overall it feels like just everything surrounding the pearl necklace tag is just a big ol' mess, frankly.

The wiki entry was written in 2009, yet it's clear that nobody checks it. Because pearl_necklace is an obvious tag for actual necklaces.

Best to move the sexual ones under various cum tags. It'll also keep the wildcard searches consistent.
