There are, as of this post, 3823 posts for white_sclera.

Having a lot of use of a tag isn't a problem in and of itself, of course, but in this case from a glance at the posting list for that tag it's mostly used for characters that normally have white sclera, which is more or less the normal thing for many animals in RL, with a bunch also used on monochrome images where the character's eye color isn't really obvious as far as TWYS goes.

Given the gross misuse of the tag, is there some automated way to clear out some of it? Off the top of my head I know of only two commercially produced characters whose normal model has non-white sclera, master_tigress (yellow) and renamon (black), but I'm sure there's quite a few fan/artist creations that would also qualify so just excluding the two named from a mass purge of white sclera seems like it would be a non-starter (if even technically possible, I don't know).

(Tangentially, though, does anyone really search on sclera color? :P )

That's a good question, I'd really like to know as well

Genjar mentioned/suggested a while ago a feature that allows others to see what tags are being searched for (or was it a history of tags that were added to images?), can't remember details, but cases like this seem relevant

Forgot about those threads, my mistake.

That said, I'm still thinking that a mass culling is going to need some automation help, because even if everyone who posts on tag issues in this forum chipped in (which of course won't happen), that's still a metric buttload of posts to check if white_sclera is being used correctly.

I think it was determined that it was acceptable for standard white sclera, but that we needed an alternate_sclera tag to go along with it for those who don't normally have that?

post #824977 Ughhh this is why I hate the use of white_sclera for normal eyes when there's no alternate tag available. Renamon still has her normal black sclera, while Diddy has his normal white sclera.

Nineteen days ago, apparently White_Sclera got aliased to invalid_tag. I wish we could have aliased it to something like unusual_white_sclera or something so that it's clear it's for cases where it's not the norm, for the previously mentioned Renamon searches.
