People got tired of all the constant (Rapid-fire) beta updates, which prevented servers from staying up for very long, and so they left on a "Hiatus" until it eventually entered Release 1.0. Now that it's officially "Complete," people will be coming back but CamKitty thinks they won't.

My cousin thought it was consigned to development hell, but now it may have a different—but just as damaging—problem.

What's the problem now? Updating too quickly and desynching client versions from server versions was the only thing I saw wrong, it works perfectly fine now as far as I can tell.
