Probably because you can't tag a solo picture as "gay" and they want a tag that says "someone who's gay would be interested in this". Which honestly doesn't make any sense to me, because a picture of a male that would make a homosexual male interested would also make a heterosexual female interested.

So I guess I agree? I just thought that might be why it's done.

Yeah I know what they tried to do, but it's pretty much a combination of male and solo then.

And a gay woman would like pictures of solo females, so they are just as homoerotic as solo male images.

Homoeroticism is something that is contained completely within the mind of the viewer, so it's physically impossible to tag. It would be "user_xXlegolas34987Xx_finds_this_homoerotic" for a tag.
