Compare the sample on e621:

The 920x1227 version is much brighter.

Sample images should retain the same brightness as the input image.

Some sample images are brighter/darker than the input image.

Bug confirmed. Related to image resizing. Assigned internal bug ID #614.

Initial investigation brings up several possibles. Including embadded gamma being stripped, stripped color profiles, and premultiplied alpha issues for 32bit PNG images that contain an alpha channels.
