Posted under Site Bug Reports & Feature Requests

Requested feature overview description.
Member names inside quoted posts link to the respective post, rather than their profile

e.g. if you quote this post, it would be

instead of

Why would it be useful?
Easier to find the post/forum link

What part(s) of the site page(s) are affected?

  • Forums, comments, (blips?)
    • Anywhere written content from others can be quoted via the Respond option

-
Other titles to make finding easier:

username links to forum post
name link to post

Alternative feature: Link to both (of course with two links), e.g.:

Though that's maybe not as intuitive as I imagined...

I'd personally always expect clicking a username to take me to their userpage, but having a link to the actual quoted post seems like a very useful feature too.

I like Chessax's alternative proposal, but it also looks a little confusing with no distinction between the two links.

I definitely think the username should link to the user's profile, but it would be useful to have a second link to the original quoted post somewhere.

It does seem logical to link said to whatever was said..

Logical, unfortunately, does not always make it intuitive :(, but it's better than OP IMO, of course we could always reformat the quoted header in some way to make it clearer, but not sure what would be most fitting.
