Topic: Tag Alias: feline_humanoid -> cat_humanoid

Aliasing feline_humanoid → cat_humanoid
Link to alias

Reason:

Just made this mistake myself, noticed it's been tagged a few times. I'd have just cleaned it up, but it seems like the sort of mistake that will be made in the future.

Not entirely sure why cat_humanoid is the preferred tag here, honestly. Sounds weird to me.

On that note, why is equine_humanoid the tag for the horse variant, rather than horse_humanoid? Got some inconsistency here.

probably from most kemonomimi hyped up in the mainstream being called Catgirls regardless of the actual species, i would prefer feline over cat because if we are going continue using cat_humanoid then we are going need tags for all feline species sence not all feline humanoids are cats. horses arnt commonly featured as kemonomimi so they dont have that pre conceived assumption that all are just one species

Despite cat_humanoid currently being the more used, I'd actually prefer it flipped to feline_humanoid as the primary.

That might have something to do with the majority of animal humanoids actually being catgirls. Sometimes, if a part of something is common enough, other parts of that something end up being called the same thing. Not saying it's right or wrong, I'm just throwing that in.

From what I've seen, the different animal_humanoid tags for different canine species are already broken up. Breaking the felines ones up would make things consistent. In saying that, I suggest an implication over an alias so people can use feline_humanoid for all feline animal humanoids and also more specific terms for individual species if they wish.

It wouldn't hurt to do the same for equine_humanoid: individual tags for horse_humanoid, zebra_humanoid, etc. and implicate each to equine_humanoid.

Honestly given how little of a difference there is between a cat_humanoid and a tiger_humanoid, or a horse_humanoid and a donkey_humanoid, or whatever else, I say we don't need species-level tags for them. You see so little of the animal characteristics that what differences there are are mostly insignificant.

But the difference are there. Different ear shapes, different tail types, different colours and patterns, etc. Just like the different canines, if not quite as obvious.

It's up to admin, really. More tags for choice or less tags for simplicity. As long as they're somewhat consistent about it, I'm fine either way.
