Reason:

Obviously any post featuring sonic would feature a hedgehog, but apparently this implication doesn't exist for some reason, since I just saw a post with Sonic that didn't have the "hedgehog" tag

EDIT: The tag implication sonic_the_hedgehog -> hedgehog (forum #218322) has been rejected by @bitWolfy.

Sonic the Hedgehog is the name, and he does get depicted as other creatures. We don't implicate species from name because of how often alt-specie depictions happen of characters.
