Birb's words

because given how common the name 'Felix' is, we need to narrow it down.

It will either stay as it is, or we can append it with your name (felix_(guilmonboy)). I'd prefer we change it to the latter, given how you're going to own multiple characters, so we will be able to search for them all using your suffix (example: *_(rml)).

That's the best we can do.

As with what Knotty said, you'll want to use a suffix at the end to appropriately make your character tag. So, use character:felix_(preferred suffix name) to make the character tag. We can then alias felix the guilmon into it.

I mean, I agree with what you're saying, but you wouldn't be aliasing anything... Not to sound rude, but that sounds a little high and mighty.

We, aka the site staff and the users who tag.

We don't need to be staff to point out how a certain alias wouldn't work, and offer possible alternatives.

Its definitely not a common name, looking up Felix by itself only brings up half a page of a couple of random OC's, even my tag brings up more. As for adding other suffixes i'll pass. My other characters have unique enough names to not be needing those (Cogma and Yaku). If you can't change it leave it as is. Personally i never type in parenthesis if i'm looking up something, its not a tag you'd remember or keep in mind. But thanks anyway!

It should bring up 0 other characters. The fact that it brings up anything else means the tag isn't serving its purpose. Thus, it needs to be fixed.

The asterisk in that search is a wildcard, it will pick up any letter, number, or symbol that (in this case) follows after the tag, or the lack thereof. Including your character because of the _the_guilmon. Felix is used more than you think. their search and mine are just formatted differently, they named the link and I named the tag search.

It is also more that is a simple name than common. Most one-named characters can suffer from being a simple name, which makes it easy to pick. Basically, think user name syndrome, if it can be typed in with five or six characters, it is already picked. My last name suffers from this, it shares the name with a city, a company, and a comic book character...

I... huh.

Somehow searching for felix* has fewer results than searching for felix* -felix_the_guilmon. The first has under a page of results, and the latter has two pages of results.

Actually now that I mess with it a bit, including a negated term in general seems to increase the number of results.

https://e621.net/post/index/1/felix*%20-sfklasgsgkl

It also works with including any other search term, but only some meta-tags (order:score doesn't change anything, but score:>-100 does).

Hmm...

Sooo i can't create a new alias since this one is in progress? Bump i guess?

I think changing from Felix_The_Guilmon to King_Felix would be better since its his actual title and he can be more than a guilmon on different pictures, such as other digivolutions.

_(guilmonboy)

refers to the artist's name, not that he's a male guilmon, since your furaffinity account is guilmonboy. However, King Felix should be fine, so +1.

The staff have to either edit the existing alias submission, or delete and create a new one if they don't know how to edit it (I'm still not sure if that secrets been shared with the other admins than the one who made it)
