Topic: Tag Implication: bowman's_wolf -> red_wolf

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

Implicating bowman's_wolf → red_wolf
Link to implication

Reason:

The species Bowman's Wolf from Freefall is a genetically modified red wolf.

Also, while I'm here, some other implications:

florence_ambrose->freefall
Link to implication

freefall->webcomic
Link to implication

While there is also an Image Comics (later DC) comic book line with a character using the code name of "Freefall" (Gen13), it's all humans so isn't likely to come up on this site given its furry focus.

EDIT: The tag implication bowman's_wolf -> red_wolf (forum #214124) has been rejected by @NotMeNotYou.

C. rufus is an actual species.

If it were just "red wolf" and not "bowman's wolf" involved, you'd be right this would be a bad implication. But BWs are explicitly modified red wolves.

yes but its pretty much impossible to tell if character is red wolf without seeing the coloration

I guess I never really thought so? They don't look anything like grey wolves, which are by far the most common wolf portrayed in furry media. They look more like coyotes with more "dog-like" proportions whereas coyotes look more "fox-like". Red wolves have much shorter coats and appear leaner than greys.

At that point it just becomes "everything is a dog" since a lot of artists apparently don't know the animals they are attempting to draw.

Florence is almost never drawn well enough to be able to differentiate anything past "female anthro wolf", as such that implication sounds bad since there is little visible that it's actually a red wolf somewhere in there.
