Some creatures posses complete metamorphism (holometabolism) or alternation of generations (metagenesis), what bring up the possibility of individuals of the same species have extremally different aparences; due to this, we tag these distinct forms separately (e.g. frog/toad and tadpole), however I belive we should treat those cases in a little different way. I suggest the creation of umbrella tags that would encompass all stages of development for determined species.
e.g.
------- | anuran | lepidopteran | xenomorph |
---|---|---|---|
form 1 | frog/toad | butterfly/moth | ??? |
Form 2 | tadpole | caterpillar | facehugger |
- Form 1 = adult form (holometabolism) or most known form (metagenesis).
- Form 2 = juvenile form (holometabolism) or least known form (metagenesis).
Note: My suggestion is based in the discussion on forum #224190, more specifically in one of the Mutisija's arguments.
