Aliasing long_mouth → snout
Link to alias

Reason:

kinda self explanatory... essentially same content, mix and match

-1 to alias. What if characters in an image have a mouth that stretches sideways long and not extends outward like a snout?

That would properly be described as wide_mouth then, from what ive seen people do not use long_mouth for the propose that you state but rather for the propose that is already served perfectly fine thru snout .

If you wanna make your case then you have to define the propose. What your suggesting so far doesn't match more the half the posts in there or is too ambiguous that it basicaly covers everything in snout except for full frontal shots

bumping this. to clarify again as can be gleamed from the tags both are used for precisely the same propose and to be honest all three examples that furrin_gok posted are by visual, snouts, we can tell by the elongated nasal arch seen in all 3 posts that is one of the fuw signs of a snout. I would have suggested disambiguation in concurance of Pelor's mention but it would seem almost everyone uses this in place of what is a snout so a disambiguation would seem kinda pointless.

nostrils yes, including the jaws(upper jaw forms the nasal arch behind the nostrils)/mouth that project together in front of the eyes

But wouldn't that be describing just about anything that doesn't have a face as flat as a human's? Even pugs are mentioned in that article and their face hardly protrudes at all.

I've also noticed that wide_mouth is not in use (whether or not it was before, I don't know) and big_mouth is hardly used. It seems people are in fact using long_mouth for long mouths, though there is near-total crossover between it and snout.

long_mouth -snout

long_mouth -snout

we kinda already do that thru, so not really a point that adds anything against this. As for wide_mouth yes its not in use but its proper terminology for what pelor was mention.
there is near complete cross over because as ive noted before they are both used to describe the exact same anatomical feature. while the long mouth technicly can also mean a wide mouth but in practice is not by the community which is then why a disambiguation is pointless.

You'll need to deal with the few long_mouth images that don't have snouts before aliasing the two.

mind you but they would be removed like any other post that is improperly tagged, i dont see what deal you are speaking of. there is no established wiki so i am going by the 98% that is represented under this tag.

snout...muzzle... synonyms? least i think they are. or maybe i'm remembering wrong and snout was a synonym for mouth.
