Topic: [Feature?] +FFD reason: 'Older version of post #' or similar

Posted under Site Bug Reports & Feature Requests

Requested feature overview description.
'Inferior version' is subjective [citation needed],
since in this case it has less to do with quality/size and more to do with state of completion

Alternative names:
  • Outdated version of *
  • [others to be added when mentioned]

Why would it be useful?
Provides further clarification when handling FFDs

What part(s) of the site page(s) are affected?

  • /post/
    • /post/delete/
    • /post/flag/
  • /post_flag_history/

Note: Not 100% sure what's the site's policy on handling multiple versions of posts, but since we currently keep only the highest quality post, I'm guessing that applies for official older/modified versions of the same post as well

examples:
(in the first example, the resolution is smaller with one of them)

we also have alternative_version_available

Wiki says:

For images which have an alternative version listed at the source, description, or comments.

Remove the tag once the picture has been uploaded.

Makes sense that if there are differend versions, e.g. cum/no-cum, genital/no-genital, etc. to be uploaded and put up as parent/child posts. These are versions that are usually made purposefully along the main image.
So first examples should stay. (and all seems 3840x2160 to me)

Then there are situations where something was purposefully fixed by the artist, this includes better resolution, typo fixes on comics, simple mistakes corrected, things improved, fixed bug in flash, etc. These are replaced with inferior/superior flag at least to my knowledge. I think there are some differend approach with flash games that are updated periotically?
But in this sense that second example, older thing should be removed.

However one thing I have noticed happening lately is some 3D artists simply creating multiple, sometimes over 10 camera angles of the exact same thing. Usually some just upload the main angle and have been adding that alternate_version_available tag to those, but according to wiki those other versions should be uploaded here as well, resulting spam of content without thumbnails.

Also seems like some posts which alternate versions were uploaded still have the tag in place.
