Might not work, since it's possible to stick Homestuck-style troll horns on something non-humanoid.

I disagree. They appear to be furrified homestuck trolls.

we do not tag characters in alternate species as their original species?

Updated by anonymous

like we would not tag it as elf if someone draws legolas as dog furry but like with elf ears. this is no different from that.

We would tag a humanoidized dog as a dog, still, though. Alternians are a bit of a different species than "Elf."

i fail to understand how it is so different.

but anyways if alt species homestuck trolls are treated this way, we need to break a whole bunch of species -> humanoid implications.

for example asari -> humanoid because its possible to draw anthros with asari tentacles and na'vi -> humanoid because its possible to draw anthros with na'vi fatures and so on

Sorry, I should have specified: What exactly makes the homestuck trolls what they are?

grey_skin, orange_sclera or yellow_sclera, horns that're yellow & orange, often in various shapes. If wounded and visibly bleeding, a big tell is that they have a rainbow spectrum of blood colors; only two trolls have red blood in the comic. You could argue that they are humans with fake horns, but all I see is Hussie being a troll. We also had Calliope dress up as a troll much more successfully, but she's a Cherub (that we might need to make a tag for).

-1, though, because they can appear in a larval state as a "grub", which still has their face. Adowable little things, really, but I think that they'd be tagged as troll_(homestuck), which isn't wrong par say. Those rainbow of cute colors is exactly what I mean when I referred to their blood.

i think that the grubs should have their own tag. just like butterfly larvae are not tagged as butterfly

And I agree, but I don't think it'll immediately click that there is a seperate tag. Maybe grub_(homestuck), and any implications relating?

That would still implicate troll_(homestuck), which this implication would result in humanoid.

No...? Please, tell me what gave you that idea.

no? we do not for example implicate night_elf_(feral) to night_elf despite of it being two different forms of same species because night_elf tag's implications would incorrectly make images of feral and anthro felines getting tagged as elf and humanoid. if anything troll_(homestuck) and grub_(homestuck) should be just both implied to alternian or something. not like grub_(homestuck) -> troll_(homestuck)

It wouldn't, though. It would only imply Homestuck, as it would be just a species, like how troll_(Homestuck) is just a species. Or we could do more, like Mut's suggestion to alternian.

I'm talking about if the suggested implication on this thread were approved. Not the current state of things.

It still won't. Troll and grub will be two separate things, with no implication going to or from both. Troll will not equal grub, nor will grub equal troll, at all.

This is ultimately a second idea, whist on topic of Homestuck. "What should we do if the grubs are tagged?"

grubs would not be implicated to trolls:

Okay. I didn't understand at first. Thank you for explaining.

Artist here to confirm that they are indeed Terezi and Vriska, as animal forms.

i know that. but this is not about whether they are furry versions about homestuck trolls or not, we were talking about if troll should be tagged as their species.

Sorry, the response that said they were just animals with horns threw me. I thought you were saying that they weren't really the characters.
