Topic: tag alias canceling: bug → insect

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

Sincerely I guess the two last meanings for "bug" aren't relevant in the site, however I am not sure about that.
We could alias "bug" and "bugs" to "bug_(desambiguation)" if those meanings are relevant, or to "arthropod" if they aren't.

See: Insect, Virus, [[computer_virus|computer_virus]], Glitch. We have separate tags for the four things.
While there are some arthropods that you could say aren't insects, it's very rare, and should be easy enough to clean out.

I know it; the problem here isn't a lack of specific tags.
The question is that someone may see a image like these and tag it with "bug", automatically adding "insect".

There are more than three thousands of posts saying otherwise.

We already have a lot of mistags involving non-insects being tagged as insects to deal with, and those two aliases surely are part of this problem.

e621 is sort-of-not-really scientific in how they apply tags. Under this logic, I would presume that they only allow "bug" in reference to a true bug (a subclass of insect by definition) and, possibly, other common nominal "bugs" such as ladybugs.
