Topic: [Bug] HTTP 400: Request Header Or Cookie Too Large

Posted under Site Bug Reports & Feature Requests

Bug overview description.
As mentioned in the title, VERY frequently (I can reproduce it every time I visit the site) get this error in Microsoft Edge when attempting to load images. I'm using InPrivate in Edge. Curiously, if I open the same image in Chrome (it loads fine) then refresh the 400'd image in Edge, it loads fine. In other words, I can "fix" a 400'd image by loading the URL in chrome.

What part(s) of the site page(s) are affected?
Only static images (static#.e621.net)

What is the expected behavior?
Images should load correctly.

What actual behavior is given instead?
HTTP 400 Bad Request: Request Header or Cookie Too Large

Can you reproduce the bug every time?
Not every image load attempt, but every time I visit the site, a few images will be "broken" and give me 400s when trying to load them.

What steps did you take to replicate this bug?
Used Microsoft Edge to browse the site.

Errors or other messages returned (if any).
I have saved the full contents of my HTTP request and response on a request that was 400'd, but I don't want to post it here because I'm not sure if the cookies etc contain private information. I'm happy to provide it to staff though.

Send it to me though dmail. I'll look at it. Usually this is fixed just by clearing the cookies for the e621 domains. The usual suspect is blacklist, but your blacklist isn't large enough.
