Bug overview description:
27 posts are tagged with a blank tag that cannot be removed. The tag history shows +- and then --, might be related to that.

What part(s) of the site page(s) are affected?
https://e621.net/wiki/show?title=

What is the expected behavior?
The tag shouldn't exist..

What actual behavior is given instead?
See the link.

Can you reproduce the bug every time?
Yep. Can't remove it manually, tried wiping all tags from the post etc, and it's still there.

happen to wonder what could of caused it? My immediate thought is _ being used, but I doubt it.

Is it possible for staff to revert the tags to an earlier state?

I tried various things and they all failed.

Reverting tags didn't work. That was the first thing I tried.

Don't bother trying to remove it. It won't work. It's caused by an old character stripping bug that goes something like this:

1. Add tag that only contains characters that get stripped (e.g., -)
2. - gets deleted and the blank tag is created in its place
3. You try to remove it but can't because the tag editor can't see that you removed it

Fortunately I already fixed it a while ago by preventing the blank tag from being created in the first place (if I remember right it just adds invalid_tag now). It just needs to be fixed manually, which anyone with database access can do if they know what to look for.

Kira, if you're reading this it's tags ID 148522. You should just be able to either edit the tag name or outright delete it.

Notice how most of the posts with the tag are ponies. That was me testing it.

Edit: The wiki page shouldn't be coming up though. That's still a bug.

*sobbing* I'll see what I can do to fix this.

Is it bad that I actually found that funny?

If you knew how much of a headache the tag code is, you'd find it even funnier.
