Topic: Multiple tags for same character

Posted under Tag/Wiki Projects and Questions

What should I do in case there are multiple tags for the same character, for example: "jace_(gasaraki2007)" and "jace_(character)", or "iko_(character)" and "ikobi"?

Updated

Well, on the first example you've given, I would move the jace_(character) to jace_(gasaraki2007); Alternatively check if there are any posts already tagged with jace, if not, retagg both (gasaraki2007) and (character) to jace.

Ok, I'll go do that, thanks!

Depends. Sometimes an alias is made, like asgore and asgore_dreemurr. Suggestions can be made and they are either approved, denied, or replaced with some other alias. An alias automatically changes the first tag to the second.

There is also suggesting an implication which is when the first tag automatically adds the second without them being the same, like animated_skeleton and skeleton.

If there are too few instances to warrant an alias or implication, it's possible to edit tags yourself, though you might want to hear what the forum has to say about which one to edit.

I just run into a problem: "jace" is aliased to "jace_(artist)" even when I try to set it as character.

That's for really good reason. So if someone accidently tags "jace" it's easy for them to see that it's already used for artist, so they can remove the artist tag and tag the character correctly.

If there are multiple tags for same characters, they should be put under same tag. For example if there's jace_(gasaraki2007) and jace_(character), then all should go under jace_(gasaraki2007) as there's possibility for there to be other characters named jace. Even better would be if the characters had full names, but we go what we have and if in future there's full name, simply request alias from jace_(gasaraki2007) to full name.

Thanks, now I get it!
