Same thing. oscar_statue is implicated to award so statuette->statue requires less work.

+1. Since the oscar statues are almost ever small (hence are statuettes) and "oscar_statuette" is more popular, I would suggest the inverse alias, but since "award" is implicated to "oscar_statue" instead, I guess it may work this way.

I'm pretty sure oscar_statuette was all tagged by the same person.

Most was tagged by 3 users (if they are the same person, I don't know).

In either case it's up to 41 tagged pictures and since they bothered to create a wiki page, it's unlikely they'll stop.

Odd, I thought I commented about this saying the (minor) difference between statue and statuette, but guess not.

-1, reverse the alias, statuette literally means "small statue", whereas statue is just something made of inorganic material formed to look like living beings.

"Oscar statue" is correct, but "oscar statuette" is more correct.

I) "statuette" is original from french language, but was accepted by english.

II) No apologies are needed, that was my OCD talking.
