yellow main, brown edge, uh...white with red circles or just red dots on the bikini part and i'm guessing blue for the jacket? can't do much but i can fill in some of the colors.

how about you give transparent png next time?

jpgs are absolute pain in ass to work any further with all those artifacts messing up everything.

lol nice "fill" tool effort. :P

edit: oops, didn't mean to double post. that does give me an idea though... i shall return with a more complete pic thanks to you.

i made that to illustrate how badly its messed with the artifacts. im not going to seriously bother with that unless i get a transparent png in my hands.

Sorry, Colors3D doesn't export with transparency.

And I meant color and clean, my apologies again.

Yeah, I have to upload it to the site. Here http://imgur.com/a/rvb6o

Also, except for the bikini, the colors aren't accurate, I just picked colors at random so I could tell lines apart, and I usually start drawing in black, so I didn't want to use the same color again.

dumb artifacts. i can't help that but i can handle filling in the spaces.

well, i'm done.

edit: that hand on the left side of the pic is bugging me. did i do a correct shading attempt there? i tried making the color darker on the partially visible finger behind the rest of the hand (even it's hard to tell with that color).

oh...well, you didn't specify the colors beforehand. oops

I'm sorry for making you go through that. I was kind of expecting to be directed to someone's FA or something, and I could discuss things.

You can try running it through waifu2x to remove the artifacts. There's a setting for that; just turn it up all the way.

Optional: reduce the number of unique colors in an image editor to the minimum needed for the existing color palette. This will brute-force the artifacts out, and leave aliased("pixely") edges that the bucket fill tool should handle easily.

More drastic option: convert to pure black and white then add the lineart colors back in with a brush set to 'lighten-only' mode.

Jaypegs found harmful to the internet.

They make bear sad ;_;

Altough to be fair, in this situation imgur might be at fault, as PNG files which are nearing 1 MB mark are always converted into really compressed JPG by default.

Simply use service which doesn't do this. Also one of the reasons why I wanted to create that wiki page, because all the other site seems to have this sort of caviats attached to them.

Even I know that when you color something, you should never work with the same layer. Put lineart on top and either make white color alpha or overlay whole thing. Always work with layer underneath, you can still select areas you want to color easily from top layer if needed. This way even if there's JAYPEGS all over the place, they'll simply get overlayed on top of the coloring.

You can see how this looks here, as original artwork is JPG and colorer simply worked on seperate layer:

With Waifu2x denoise option you actually have to select the value that most closely matches compression. If you use too large value on something like this small amount of compression, it actually makes it worse and ruins the image as well in the process.

Of course it's also good to mention that this is still computer alghorithm guessing stuff, so this isn't as perfect as having original file as PNG, but if needing to edit or handle image in some way it does make things slightly easier.

I really do not like color reduction option unless it's jpg compressed pixel art (thanks pixiv) and not fan of treshold option as it's mostly meant for pure black and white content like text scans to begin with.

can't do multiple layers with mspaint (that i'm aware of) and that's the only art program on this laptop.

also, who is the actual artist of that pic you linked? there's 2 artist tags.

Paint.NET, Gimp and Krita. All are free and all have portable options so you don't have to even install them.

Also artist on parent post is stated ber00. Actually need to double check the other artist tag as usually those who only color works shouldn't get artist tag.

will check those out later.

and i think badgengar was the one who colored that pic but i can't put _(colorist) on the tag because it's already tagged with other pics they did. actually, that seems to be about all bagengar does: coloring line art. what's more, that circular shaped line of gengar's in the top left corner of the pic seems to be badgengar's watermark as it's not on any of the original line art pics they've colored. the text is fine but i doubt they should be putting their watermark on other peoples work like that.

hmmm... correction, they use at least 2 different watermarks on pics they colored. post #1228494 top left corner there is the 2nd watermark. well, not all of the pics with that tag on them but the majority are watermarked when the originals likely aren't.
