Topic: Chat not working?

Posted under General

Hello,

when I try to enter the chat I just get this and nothing else happens. I don't see any users not even myself. When I try to send something, also nothing happens. Do you know what the Problem could be?

Sounds like you're in the server tab, not the channel tab.

Which is most likely because the client can't connect to channel and this is most likely caused by +R mode, meaning that only registered users can join, which was propably put in place to prevent spambots.

So either register your nickname to furnet and login or try again later to see if +R has been taken off. As of writing this, the mode should be off and after you connect you should see list of people on the channel on right side list.

I've registered my account to furnet, and this is the message I got after reloading the chat page (entered my password at the end to get recognized):

11:10:50 <NickServ> This nickname is registered and protected. If it is your
11:10:50 <NickServ> nick, type /msg NickServ IDENTIFY password. Otherwise,
11:10:50 <NickServ> please choose a different nick.
11:11:00 <NickServ> Password accepted - you are now recognized.

I've tried to connect to other chat channels, but I always get some variant of the message.

You will need to type /join #e621 after your nick is identified.
