Topic: Tag Implication: midriff -> clothed

Implicating midriff → clothed
Link to implication

Reason:

The midriff wiki specifically states it applies to characters wearing clothing (ie. clothed).

Misc.
  • midriff -clothing reveals a lot of mistags. Many of the results either don't have clothing at all or the clothing is untagged. Topless and bottomless characters show up as well when they probably shouldn't.

EDIT: The tag implication midriff -> clothed (forum #228107) has been rejected by @NotMeNotYou.

Before voting, I have some questions:

I) Since it is so terribly mistagged, wouldn't be better to discuss a way to solve this issue, before implying?

II) What should be done in cases of pseudo clothing?

e.g. post #1091918

III) What should be done if no clothing is used, only bandages or similar?

e.g. post #1025336

1) Yeah, we probably should fix the mistags first so they don't lose easy access to them.

2) Pseudo clothing doesn't count as clothing and characters with it don't count as clothed, so I highly doubt midriff is meant to apply in that situation.

3) I think a question like that came up in regards to whether clothed should apply to characters wearing armor. Unfortunately, we don't have a catchall "body covering" tag. Clothing is the closest we have to that. I don't think bandages or the various wraps tags count as clothed.

Edit: Found it.

This is only half of the question, we also need to find a way to preclude (or at least reduce) these mistags. We can use a bucket to constantly remove the water from a bored boat, or we can find a way to fix the hole.

A clearer definition should help. Currently, it's defined as "Images or animations that depict the character wearing clothing. But none of the clothing is covering their belly or upper hips." which allows topless and bottomless images through. The way I see it, clothing covering the top and bottom half should be present (eg. shirt and shorts), so the midriff is surrounded by clothing. Nude characters shouldn't get the tag at all.

Bandages, armor, etc. are a grey area.

To start, should be specified it is only used for characters wearing both, top and bottomwear, also stating it excludes 'shirt_lift' (I am still not sure about what should be done in regard to pseudo clothing, though).
