-1 unless done for the rest of the cast as well.

mae_(nitw)
gregg_(nitw)
beatrice_santello

And even then, I don't think it's a good idea. Within the game, they are effectively known as Mae, Bea etc, the rest is background info.

Full name should better go to the wiki page for the character.
"Bea is a character from Night in the Woods. Her full name (as revealed in ...) is Beatrice Santello".

I would prefer that, but I don't remember the other characters' names besides mae borowski.

A character's fuckin' name isn't "background info" by the way.

We do use full names when characters have them. If the others don't have them, they can't get them, but we still use them where they exist.

-1, the short versions are easier to type and will result in less typos. I don't expect all users to be able to write Borowski correctly.

Two words vs. one word, a series of letters and punctuation... I prefer full name. Either way, it wouldn't really matter once they're aliased as both would produce the same result.

These days, we can't even expect people to write "their" correctly. Illiteracy on their part is no excuse.

...Did you forget what an alias is? People can still type in bea_(nitw) and everything works.

I find that whenever a feelsy indie game like Night in the Woods is a subject, people get unreasonable about the pettiest shit.

My reasoning is very simple: Beatrice Santello is her fucking name and therefore that should be her character tag.

The other characters should be the same, but I have not drawn them yet, therefore it is not relevant to my artwork, therefore I'm not worrying about it yet.

Once something's been aliased away, hardly anyone uses the old tag. Because checking the wiki to see if there's a shorter version takes longer than just tagging whatever we're using as the main tag.

In any case, leave it for the staff to sort it out. I'm not here to argue with you.

+1 for the alias.

If the only argument for not using the full name is that it's more likely to receive typos, there's a quite few hundred last names that need to be stripped from preexisting tags here.

It is, if they are only known by their alias or nickname within the story.
Case in point, Wikipedia pages for Freddie Mercury and Bob Dylan are called exactly that, with reverse aliases for their actual names.

Also Mae's first name is likely longer than just "Mae".

It's Margaret. It's only revealed with optional dialogue though, and she goes by "Mae".

Though that does bring up an interesting question about "Germ Warfare".
