Isn't scenery a bit more specific though? It usually is used for images that have an outdoor vista, right?

Like BlueDingo said, those belong under landscape. It follows the same standard as cityscape and other *scape tags.

Sincerely I thought that suggest a desambiguation wouldn't the best idea due the number of posts tagged with "scenery" (> 800), but I guess you are right about that.

This looks really old. I doubt some of these tags have the same usage patterns that they did back then. If anything is still needed, then a fresh discussion might be better. Also the original discussion had basically rejected the OP implication anyways. So I'm just going to reject this one for now.
