Topic: changing "sound_warning" from copyright tag to artist's tag

Posted under Tag/Wiki Projects and Questions

where it is already seen that epilepsy_warning is an artist tag to ensure that it is highly visible, it should be such that sound_warning is changed to an artist tag for the same reason.

i have been a victim of many cases where i did not take the tag seriously. perhaps a bit of yellow would change my mind.

I remember bugging about this couple times now and would like someone to get on this. This does require moderator or above to do this.

With only 228 posts, it'd be easy to untag 129 of them temporarily. So the type could be changed without mod assistance.

But I'd rather not. Kind of seems like abuse of site tools.

Didn't it used to be an artist tag, then was changed for some reason?

Anyway I'd suggest aliasing it to !sound_warning so you can actually see it it easily in the mouseover tag list.

What would be nice is something like a info category that describes technical stuff like bvas or *_warning or invalid_*.

Not sure how painful it would be to do such a thing though

if one wishes to suggest such a thing, they may.

Can there be a new type of tag type called technical tags?

Probably not. There's a limit to how many categories can be effectively added, and from what I've understood, we're already close to that limit.

I literally just said that!

Sad, didn't know there could be a limit to such things.

Maybe we should make a new warning tag type.

warning:epilepsy_warning
warntags:1

This is a solution that needs code, but if you want to prevent epilepsy and loud audio while not cluttering the arttags:0 search, it solves both problems.

Or since there are so few of these, what if we reset them to the general type and have the server print them at the top of the list as special exceptions. No hiding them either. That code would be very simple. You could also make them <blink>.

the <blink> tag has never been standard HTML, none of the major browsers support it, and it is called by the Mozilla Developer's Network as obsolete.
