Topic: [Feature] Pools unmodified after 2* months turn inactive

Posted under Site Bug Reports & Feature Requests

Requested feature overview description.
After 2 months (can be any length of time) of time has passed without a pool being modified, such as having new pages added to it, will become inactive automatically.

Why would it be useful?
Would reduce the number of falsely active pools there are, making navigating the add-to-pool menu easier.

What part(s) of the site page(s) are affected?
Pools

+1 to this for sure.

Quite a few good points were raised in this thread:

forum #207842

and, as also pointed out in that thread, when I went through all the pools manually closing them it caused problems for anyone browsing the pools list looking for new updates.

I have to say I agree with Lance Armstrong that the time frame should be quite long (probably about 6 months) since some pools do take a while for new posts to be added to them.

A feature like this would definitely help streamline the process of keeping pools up to date without having to clog up the drop down menu with pools that are complete but not closed (especially if the feature doesn't bump the pool to the top of the listing).

i agree. any automation that removes tedious things is good automation that must be added.

Like I said, 6-12 months would accomplish the same thing. But the suggestion is a good one.

I'm in support, but the timeframe should be longer.
