these overlap but they are not same fetish. diaper fetish is only about wearing diapers while infantilism is about treating someone who is not a baby as a baby, this does not necessarily include diapers and diaper fetish does not necessarily include infantilism.

You're mostly right, but diaper fetish is in infantilism. It is another brand of infantilism, but plenty of other branches have been pruned, ones actually separate from infantilism yet aliased to it.

I can see where you may be getting this wrong: it is wordplay to call out the fetish of diapers, which people use in leu of infantilism if they're particular or didn't know infantilism is a word, or the fetishes (plural) that can involve diapers. Fetishes that can involve a diaper, like hypnosis, regression, or humiliation, may not be practicing actual infantilism, they may be, instead, just practicing ageplay and the fetish (mind you, I'm not saying ageplay needs a fetish involved, I'm pointing out a separation of ageplay with other fetishes and infantilism).

Still gonna +1, even if its a largely underused tag. As of now, there are 2996 pictures tagged "diaper," and only 19 tagged with fetish (most of which are uploaded by me), even though most of them are clearly fetish fuel, even if not inherently sexual.

Branch, just like Infantilism is a branch of Ageplay. The wording of infantilism matches the usage of diaper fetish, it is a fetish involving diapers. Off-site, it is infantilism that is used because it is broader, sometimes replacing "diaper_fetish", or "fetish".

Simply put: let's keep one tag and let you specify if you want to, than keep two tags that mean the same thing. Alternatively, avoid the word fetish to say it's not infantilism. We have certain combo tags that don't include infantilism, and some fetishes can, in theory, overrule it.

No. Bad pun. Depends are the worst adult diapers you can get.

There isn't exactly a governing authority on the many varied flavors of the ABDL community, but if you go by the article I linked above, they basically all fit under infantilism. But for the purposes of this site, leaving diaper fetish as its own separate tag is probably best.
