the avoid_posting list is a tidy sum, and many of the artists on there have been so for years. years happen to be long, and people can change their minds; it might be good to ask them if they still want to be on the list a year or two after they've been added.

i wouldn't be the one to do this, and I'm not familiar with artists who are on the list. but if it's a nice message long after they've forgotten about asking to be on the list, they might just decide to be taken off. why would they? i suppose for the same reasons they wanted to be put on.

some problems might arise if an artist, after agreeing to be removed from the list, quickly decides to be put back on it, wasting effort. it would be similar to the effort wasted to have an artist you uploaded a collection of ask to be on the DNP after you uploaded it.

"germane," as in "relevant," where the sentence is "is it relevant [to the site] to..."

But is it Kosher or Halal to do so?

I just imagined this to be like kid asking their mother in store that can they have candy. Mom gets annoyed, kid gets dissapointed and in worst case kid is being pulled out of the store screaming.

So unless you actually want to pay the candy from your allowance, as in you are paying money to DNP artist and want to post that commissioned artwork here, just don't poke for absolutely no reason.

I have contacted DNP artists before. They will most likely ignore you.

Yeah, except for a handful of very old entries the entire list has been hand curated by actual competent staff, and since Char came to power in '10 we actually have a proper paper trail over all requests.
