Topic: [Feature] Simple Notifications ("Search for myself")

Posted under Site Bug Reports & Feature Requests

Requested feature overview description.

Show the amount of unread new comments, blips, posts, and comments on my posts on the My Account page, or show the date of the latest result for each of the searches.

For the date idea, it would use the same system as other dates on the site: 15 seconds ago, 33 minutes ago, 2 months ago, 4 years ago, hover to see the exact time.

Put the string to the right of each of the links.

Why would it be useful?

Know if you have new replies without opening the searches.

What part(s) of the site page(s) are affected?

My Account, when logged in.

Care to give a scenario? it sounds good, but I'd like a "visual" representation as well.

» Search for myself in comments (1 day ago)
» Search for myself in blips (16 days ago)
» Search for myself in forums (2 minutes ago)
» Comments on my posts (1 day ago)

Those times are based on my actual searches.

With some spacing it could be made easier to read:

ignore this
» Search for myself in comments 1 day ago
» Search for myself in blips 16 days ago
» Search for myself in forums 2 minutes ago
» Comments on my posts 1 day ago

+1. I usually have no idea someone replies to me without actually looking for it...

You can actually just leave the header blank (with the proper number of |'s) if you don't want to put anything there.

» Search for myself in comments 1 day ago
» Search for myself in blips 16 days ago
» Search for myself in forums 2 minutes ago
» Comments on my posts 1 day ago
\
[thead]
[th][/th][th]

» Search for myself in blips 16 days ago

» Search for myself in forums 2 minutes ago

» Comments on my posts 1 day ago

[/table\]

I'll add that features should be added even if they are in an extension, since 95% of the users don't use an extension.

I don't exactly know what you mean by that, but I am interpreting it as "clicking the post". So, I will say that there is a "Comments on Your Posts" function in the comments section.

If, however, what I said is what you meant, then apologies.

i would like this implemented, but with the option to turn it off. the last thing i need is more stimulation.
