As bonus works faster and with tons of other sites as well for good sourcing. Of course it's always bad when one alternative goes down.

but this one is for checking if picture is already posted here, those options are not useable for this at all

e621 IQDB checked posts from e621.
SauceNAO and Google check posts from e621 as well as places like pixiv, deviantart, twitter, furaffinity, etc.

Searching my current avatar for example

SauceNAO:

Google:
https://puu.sh/AylT7/16f5858dfc.png (Furaffinity source found as well as e621)

huh, when did saucenao start searching from e621 too? but google reverse image search is still not reliable for finding posts on e621. if you search for my most recent upload, nothing will come up.

If course, it takes times for google bots to index data.

Neither of those find deleted posts, and Google's 'similar posts' search is far too broad to be useful.

Whereas harry.lu was useful for finding things like crops, posts that have been taken down (and therefore shouldn't be reposted), posts that should be parented, and so on. I hope it's not permanently gone, that'd make many things harder.

While I know it doesn't always show results from here, I know Yandex is shockingly-good at finding things. It's somehow even able to contextually search for a picture so that even if it couldn't find a specific picture of Sea_Salt for example (which is almost impossible for it to miss), it'll still know to look for other pictures of Seasalt by Redrusker.

Note: the website is in Russian (if you couldn't tell by the .ru tld). I'd advise using Google Chrome's Right-click > Translate page option to navigate the website.

I have found more deleted posts with sauceNAO - because they also keep deleted posts in their database and combine them with exact matches from other websites. I tested if it could find deleted images just to make sure and sure enough it did find post I deleted couple days ago as well as it's inferior version. There are also bunch of pixiv posts which saucenao finds, but have been deleted from pixiv long ago.

Of course if the content wasn't crawled before deletion, at that point none of the services can find the content, most likely e621 IQDB will not find any deleted posts in this period it's down. Last time it was down for longer amount of time it couldn't find content delete either, which resulted one user bashing other one for falsely flagging content as previously deleted because e621 IQDB didn't find the content - but sauceNAO and manual searching did.

SauceNAO is exactly like e621 IQDB but better, but like I said before less options is always bad. There could be times where sauceNAO either goes down, has problems crawling or just ends at which point we would have nothing.

Well, I wouldn't know about that. SauceNAO usually complains that my IP has 'used up its daily search limit', despite me not having used it at all recently. And yes, I've tried contacting them about it. The reply was along the lines of "your IP-range is blacklisted because of excessive usage". Somehow it still works once in a blue moon, but I haven't got much use out of it.

Google isn't much of an alternative either, because of the poor coverage. Most of stuff that I've uploaded within past year still hasn't got indexed. Try searching for post #1282428 by either upload or url, for instance. Dunno about you, but I don't see e621 among the matches.

That does look interesting. Google is better at indexing Japanese sites, but overall Yandex seems to find a lot more matches. Definitely something to keep in mind when trying to track down unknown artists.

That's the reason why I bought public IPv4 address from my operator. They bundle bunch of customers under same IP trough NAT, so especially nintendo has issues with online play and some services you are just straight up banned for never even visiting there.

Not sure what's issue with you specifically or how to help it other than cycling IP addresses or VPN. Altough SauceNAO should seriously consider updating to support IPv6 to avoid these issues.

Thanks for the advice on IPs. I might look into that, although it's not high priority for me since that's the only site I've had that problem with.

I get that same result if I use the Reverse Google Search-function from the post, but entirely different result (the one I linked above) when I do a reverse image search from Google.

Try pasting the post URL to GIS: https://static1.e621.net/data/f1/d4/f1d4a6cf4993c010fc4ab902f3c41b36.png

No idea why it doesn't list e621 there, but as you can see, it's not very reliable for trying to determine if something has already been uploaded.

EDIT: Except now it's listed. I guess it got indexed after I searched for the URL earlier. :P

Harry.Lu appears to be back up, or at least it is working for me again. So, yay!

Yep, working for me too. Not sure why it stopped for a bit.
