Aliasing standing_sex → standing_position
Link to alias

Reason:

Standardization.
If we're to have an umbrella tag for standing positions, then it should be under *_position like the other sex position tags. Whereas the *_sex tag group is for various types of sex (group, casual, rough, etc) that tend to apply regardless of the position.

EDIT: The tag alias standing_sex -> standing_position (forum #234552) has been rejected by @NotMeNotYou.

Is "standing sex" like the from behind position tag, which can then be branched off to more specific sex tags like doggystyle? Right now, there seems to be a lot of overlap between it and the stand and carry position tag.

Yes, that is how it's currently being used. As an umbrella tag for all types of standing sex. So if it is to be kept, then it'd be the base tag for other tags such as stand_and_carry_position. Ideally, we should also add some subtag for the sex position where both characters are standing upright. Such as:

Since there's currently no way to search for that specific position.

I've always interpreted the tag to mean both parties are standing...it's weird to me that it's conflated with stand_and_carry_position. It's like if you said "they had sex standing up" I would imagine two people standing, not one of them being carried.

I don't really care what the tag is called, I just think it's dumb that these two are combined, and I wouldn't want it used as an "umbrella term" because then you'd have the job of trying to classify this:

by another name beyond simply "standing sex"...which would be...what exactly?

I think that's how it was started, but it quickly got overrun by all kinds of standing positions ranging from stand and carry to the wheelbarrow. I suspect that it's too late to try to restrict it to a more specific position.

As far as I know, there's no widely accepted name for that post #637 position; though some books call it the frisk position.

And here's an another relatively common standing position:

Definitely common enough to warrant a tag, but I don't recall any name for that offhand.
