While tagging a diaper wearing man-duck on a moped, it occurs to me that not everyone know exactly what to tag and their several names that could be synonymous/use as well as ones to specify a certain elements or theme of the image. For example somewhere in "is there a tag for that" few user were wondering if to use apocalypse or wasteland for destroy areas, which we had already the ruins tag for. the fact we even needed this thread to exist should hint we're somewhat disorganized at the moment.

What I propose is a way to break the tags list section into general categories that consist of multiple tags about a certain topic (ex facials expression: smile,sad,rape_face,angry,devious_looks etc)

On a side note, I would like to assist in the revisment if this is considered. I'm going to learn some form of SQL soon and working on a actual project would give me a idea how it applied in development.

It should be in the tag section not in the wiki. it not that clearly visible for general members like me to bump into,let alone utilize.

But we can at the very least put a link to it in the tag section if all else fail.

There is a link. If it's part of a group, there will be a link next to "see also".

And as the guy who asked about which tag to use in the first place, I can say with certainty that a group would not have helped me.

True, but what I had in mind was it would also be functioning as a place where people could easily refer when tagging. They need to tag something first then see if they got it right, or guess again. I know most wiki tags have these links, but I know not all implement them. We could create disambiguation tags and have someone with in depth knowledge about the subject deal with it but it farfetched.

how it could be carried out is in the tag section there a blank section on the table between "type" and "main article" which is mostly just describing the tag with some link to related ones,not all though.

we could put "category" between those two And make a meta datasheet for tags like views to consist of view_in_front, looking_at_viewer, rear-view etc. It should appear when the type is "general". then we could use the search engine at the top to locate all of them

afterward we just need to insert a link to https://e621.net/wiki/show/tag_group:index in the tag section so new users could get acquainted with. one it would help make new tags go through a less bureaucratic procedures to be organized. secondly it would allow categories to be called more smoothly (though if we link the specific wiki page to them it can be more productive)

we already have categories created on the website. we just need to make it more UI friendly. after all e621 to a extent depend on volunteers to maintain it.
