It seems like over half the images tagged with "cheating" are using it to mean cheating on a partner, when the tag's page defines it as "Act of completing something in a way that is not fair." The tag they're looking for is probably "infidelity" or "adultery."

Perhaps new tags to the effect of "unfair_play" and "academic_dishonesty" could be created, with "cheating" having a disambiguation page? (I've never uploading anything myself, only edited tags, so I'm not sure how best to prevent a misunderstanding there.)

It looks like somebody resolved that thread, but I'm not entirely sure what "Would rather disambiguate" means. Should we be using a different tag for cheating at a game or cheating on a test?

Disambiguation basically means specifying with certain secondary/tertiary words, usually suffixes. Depends on what is being suffixed, usually characters go to the character owners, items get specified by which is which, et cetera. This is an action, so it gets defined into which action is done.

This kind of brings up something interesting...should adultery be aliased to infidelity or vice versa?

The case for adultery A-> infidelity: Adultery is when you cheat on your spouse...in other words the couple would need to be married for it to be technically adultery. Infidelity is a bit more flexible in that you can simply be cheating on your partner...meaning bf/gf, fiancee, etc. are included.

The case for infidelity A-> adultery: Adultery is the a much more popular tag and people probably don't care about exact definitions. The terms are virtually interchangeable.
