Reason:

they are legendary pokemon

http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Legendary_Pok%C3%A9mon

Appearently the only Legendary Pokemon that implies said tag is Arceus.

Updated

I'm amazed that only 2% of legendary_pokémon is arceus even though there's only the one implication.

Approved all except hoopa_(unbound) because I'm not entirely sure what to do with that tag right now (I made a placeholder implication so it doesn't get lost).

A wise choice.

Wiser than the temporary tag mewthree back before Mega Mewtwo Y was officially named.

wow, i didn't even know there was that many legendaries. but then again, i haven't really cared to play any of the games since ruby/sapphire nor watch the anime.

I also lost count of every Pokemon after gen. 3. Things got a lot more confusing for me after that. I have the fondest memories of Season 1 of the anime as well as Firered/Leafgreen and Ruby/Sapphire.

In terms of the games, I'm always up to date.

In terms of the anime, I've been planning on catching up on it since stopping in the middle of the Unova arc.

False. Hoopa, among others, are NOT Legendary Pokemon. It is classified as a Mythical Pokemon.

Legendary list
Mythical list

They were considered a single group before, but that changed with the release of Pokemon Black and White.

I) Actually this distinction ever existed, however in the english versions these terms weren't separated until the fifth generation.

II) We don't take in consideration such separation while tagging. After all, the only difference between mythical and legendary pokémon is the method with which they can be obtained (through special event or not); pokémon that could be obtained by these two methods, at some point, may be considered as both (e.g deoxys).

The only difference is "Mythical" means "Legendary that is available only through an event." Still legendary.

Well... actually they really are different groups, currently there is only one pokémon that may be considered as both (deoxys), and even though its legendary status is somewhat debatable. This distinction is still irrelevant for the site, though.
