forgive me if this forum post is redundant in any fashion, as i have not seen this suggestion brought up yet.
now, for those of us who have worked on other wikis, there exists a feature where you may call a template and have it automatically fill in such and such amount of data or information. for instance, a tag group or links relating to a specific subject.
this is useful, for instance, in the clothing wiki. say you want to add in related links for the "upper body" section and provide easy access to every type of that on every wiki page related to said clothing. if a new type of clothing is tagged, and you want to update those related links, you would have to go into every page and edit them manually.
with a template, all you would do is call the template to produce those related links, and then edit the template to have it automatically be updated on every single wiki page the template is called on. it would be a large time saver and remove much of the busywork that current wiki editing involves.
a practical example is in order for the uninitiated: take the shirt wiki page. imagine, under the "types of shirts" section, a new type of shirt is added, perhaps a hawaiian shirt. if you want to update that section to reflect this addition, you would have to add in "hawaiian shirt" to every single page manually. with a template, you would just add the shirt to the template and it would show up on every single page that has the template.
forgive me again if this feature is already implemented, for it is not documented if it is.
