Let me just say, I'm not trying to get banned, I'm just curious!
And had a few question

So when someone is banned from the site say for a few days
what would happen if they couldn't wait and made a new account?
(Would they be punished with "Never"?)

And when someone does get a 'Never' on their account, It that it?
They're not allowed to favorite, Comment or anything of the sort outside
of browsing the site as a guest?

And one of the biggest questions I've had was, How can higher up peeps
tell when a banned account makes another account?
Would they have to play detective and wait for the
new account to say something incriminating or is there another way of telling?

Again, I don't really mean to ruffle any feathers, Just suuuuuuper curious for the longest time.

That's ban evading and ban evading results permaban e.g. "expires: never"

Yes. They cannot create new account or use exsisting ones, but can browse like any other non-registered user.

Most things are stuff that many with brain can think of, like using similar nicknames (like: furrylover1 and definitely_not_furrylover1), but most of it is semi-secret so that nobody can just look the things up and ban evade with those in mind.

Circumventing a Suspension / Ban

Though if you evade your suspension I will just completely ban you on principle. If someone "can't wait" for their suspension to be lifted then I "can't wait" to change that suspension to a permanent ban. Make a dumb choice, get a dumb consequence.

RE: methods; I will absolutely not tell you. I will only say I screen new users.

We typically specialize. Most of my job revolves around user matters, such as tickets, user records, and bans. I take that job quite seriously and have pretty high expectations for how that job is carried out.

Otherwise I will occasionally poke at rating:s status:pending -animated -3d, status:flagged, and a long list of artist tags to clean (or entirely nuke) bases if I feel like I should do more, and/or I have little else to do offsite. I put a lot of work into this place.

Nah, I meant no ill-intent either. Some users get curious to see what it's like to be banned, I offer it up, they take the offer, a day later, they don't ever want to be banned again :V

Nimmy isn't the founder, he's the current lead administrator. The founder was Arcturus, and the current site owner is Varka.

If it won't reflect badly on my record outside of being a kinda weird for

I cleared that up with the admins. No, I was not a ban-evader. That person was not me.

Back from my little banning/Rouge Ninja adventure and gotta say it was
a pretty interesting Exp ╹‿╹)

If I had to describe what it was like being banned for a bit, It was like being knocked down a rank to something less than a member. Knew that the exp of being banned was only going to be active for a bit so I tried as many things as I could once I got the Dmail that the Test ban started. Favoriting things and commenting were a complete no-go, Infact some of the things on my favorites list were now marked as 'un-favorited' which was pretty weird at first. But I understood after more experimenting that it was like being logged out but being logged in at the same time.
"It's limbo!" That's another way of putting it ~‿~)

Oh yeah! The Wierd thing about being ban that I didn't know was a thing is that you can still sign into your account! Wierd right? Guess it kinda does make sense since you wouldn't be able to tell if you were banned unless you do. On a banned account you can't do anything public and your favorites have turned into an archive of things you liked up to that point.

Sadly, I didn't get the chance to try out editing, Seeing if 'chat' worked
or about uploading since the ban was over as quick as it started but
seeing what's happened to the other stuff I bet I'd get an 'Unauthorized" there too. ╹‿╹)

Yup, after that I can calmly say the same thing the peeps before me said after their temp ban.

That's because the ban was removed before a full 24 hours. But yeah, you are restricted from the site's features when you are banned.

Hmm, I always speculated that the admins and mods can see the IP address of the user, and if the same user creates another account, (most likely on the same device they made their first account on) then it would still have the same IP address making it clear that it was an alt.

Well that was thread bump if there was any.

Pretty surely this is one aspect of it, as IP addresses have been in use literally since the beginning of internet and those can be identifyable, however you still have to be really careful with this. VPN services have gotten quite common these days, meaning many users using same VPN service can have same IP address and as IPv4 addresses have already ran out, operators are tying many of them together with NAT, meaning that many users from completely seperate ends of country can have same IP address. I actually have to seperately enable it so that I have my very own IPv4 address, othervice I would also be behind NAT with tens or hundreds of other users.

That all said, if someone does get banned and someone from same IP address registers new account immidiately? Probability of VPN or NAT situation is almost nonexsisting at that point.

IP is still just one of many things that administration can use to determine ban evaders, but again, if someone was telling about those in here, this would be really good tutorial how to ban evade.
