Could Marvel make a live action TV show containing an "anthro" (more like kemonomimi)?

Marvel’s New Warriors Will Be Filming in Atlanta

Marvel is expanding their relationship with Freeform to include New Warriors, a show will be filming in Atlanta down the line. Following their previous collaborations with ABC and Netflix, Marvel TV is expanding their reach to include Hulu for Runaways and Freeform for Cloak & Dagger. While Cloak & Dagger already has a cast, filmed a pilot, and released its first trailer, Freeform has also been working to bring New Warriors to life on their network.

As a sister-network of ABC, Marvel’s partnership with them is no surprise, especially considering the younger demographic that Freeform targets. This is precisely the audience both sides are aiming for with New Warriors, as it will bring Squirrel Girl and others to the small screen. Even though casting has not yet been announced, the series now has a filming location.

There are no production photos or trailers yet so you don't get to know how furry this character will look.

Squirrel Girl has appeared in various Marvel comics from 1991 to 2017. The TV show is based on a comic called New Warriors that did not contain any appearances of Squirrel Girl:

A live action half hour comedy series based on the New Warriors is in development by Marvel Television and ABC Studios. The series received a direct-to-series order with 10 episodes and will debut on Freeform in 2018, co-produced by ABC Signature. The team will consist of Doreen Green / Squirrel Girl, Craig Hollis / Mister Immortal, Dwayne Taylor / Night Thrasher, Robbie Baldwin / Speedball, Zach Smith / Microbe, and Deborah Fields / Debrii. Reportedly, Squirrel Girl's sidekick Tippy Toe will also appear in the series.

You have my permission to necro this thread in 2018.

Real tail and fake ears, huh?

Would be nice if this causes a huge influx of quality artwork. This time the character would even be sorta interesting.

Squirrel Girl is supposed to be a much more down to earth character. No crazy backstory, just a normal person who happens to have squirrely powers.

They climb and eat nuts.

Such as buckteeth, a tail, and ears, which don't grant much ability (afaik she didn't get the jaws, just the teeth), though the tail does let her balance a bit better. The power that is useful is she can commune with squirrels, and call for them to assist her. Real squirrels are dangerous, yes.

I don't know I've seen a bird chase off a squirrel from a trash can and the muffin therein. Plus one came running down a tree towards me and started making aggressive squirrel gestures, it was adorable than it just ran back up it's tree. Another one was just yelling at me from a tree so aperientaly squirrels don't like me although I've yet to be attacked and they're to cute to be threatening.

They need to learn how to gang up. One may not be a threat by itself, but 20 at once...

A squirrel's jaw strength is enough to completely sever the entire human finger in one fell swoop.

It can't hurt to spread awareness, which I have done.

Squirrel Girl is well known for beating some of the strongest Marvel characters in fights despite being physically weaker (but still having a form super strength). Call it an in-universe parody character if you want.

That's how it happens in some of the Squirrel Girl fights. There's an example panel in the Wikipedia article.

But I liked last millennium...

Seeing how Marvel keep changing parts of their established characters as of late, I wouldn't be surprise if they did make her a lesbian just so they can go around saying she's a lesbian.

She is clearly a red squirrel.

I guess you never heard of the European red squirrel. Less specifically, Eurasian, but the Asian part isn't as prominent.

I have. I was first mentioning that she is a red squirrel, as a pun on being white, then referring to the stereotype of all Europeans being white, making fun of tumblr logic to jokingly imply that it must mean she is not either.

Since currently forum #260497 is saying superheroes should have one tag for their civilian identity and another tag for their superhero identity.

Squirrel Girl.
Tagged as squirrel girl (marvel).
One upload tagged also with her civilian name doreen_green (post #1061042 ),
but thinking that may be depicting her (partially) in superhero garb. (squirrel-ears-handband, and i think she has worn that jacket in superhero mode)

Apparently her tail is attached, going by Marvel wikia)
so guessing main part of her civilian mode would be not wearing any of her uniform (maybe including her squirrel-ear-headband).

At initial glance, only post #467553 seems to be of her in civilian mode. (she's the bridesmaid on the left, note #206)
