Typically for me, it gets turned on because I turn it on, then forget I turned it on. Some case where I"m looking for something, and getting a lot of unrelated sexy/horrifying pictures.

That's one use for incognito as google does keep track of your online activity in general which does also effect the search results (e.g. if you search for e621 that you want the website instead of e621 the e-code and information of monosodium glutamate), where incognito they are more general ones.
