Topic: HAHA, first time banned from a forum

Posted under Off Topic

Wow... Never thought people were so judgemental and honory about their beloved god....

Posted a rant/question on Two Kinds forum about the comic. Thread was locked within 5 minutes and I was banned within 10 XD

Anyone else gotten banned for asking/ranting on a forum? Not trolling, harassing, etc....

PS... just found out it was a permanent ban >.<

Ohh and in case you are curious -

(And this will probably be deleted for it is against the two kinds universe, but I would like to speak my mind and ask if this bothers/bugs anyone else.

Why the hell is there a side story going on that we have to pay for!?

I have been a fan of the comic for about 3 to 4 years now. It was something that actually brought me to learn the furry fandom and I am grateful for that. Over two years ago in May of 2012, the owner, writer, artist, and creator wanted to do something huge, and so he started a kickstarter to make it happen - https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/tw ... ting-drive . So so many wanted to help and made it happen within 12 hours, and alternate goals were made. One of which was to start having 2 updates a week. We were used to 2 or 3, but it had to change with the artists harder schooling, and we all understood and accepted it.

Since then... I dont know if it ever happened. If there was some rapid new pages for the comic, it seemed to come from the comics owed number (another earlier fund raiser), regardless of the new update quota change.

So many people put in money to help the artist, and once that goal for $100,000 was for 2 updates a week, it was made and surpassed within hours. And yet... it seems as the fans are lucky to see one a week...

Do I know the artist has a life: Yes! Do I know that the artist may not be able to made that 2 updates a week: Of course!

What bugged me is that a side story is being made (again, not a problem) and is being charged for viewing! Just bugs me a bit to get that much funding and support from the fans, not provide the promise of 2 updates a week, but still have enough time to make a side project to sell....

Maybe I dont know something, maybe I am completely out of line, and maybe I am just a huge dick. I am just curious if anyone else has these same feelings? And even more important: if anyone has some reasons why this question/rant is ill placed?)

What?

The only part of this I understand is that you're ban evading.

Maybe you should actually read some of it.

I was once banned from a forum based around Fatal Frame IV. I simply asked how it was possible to get it in the US and they somehow interpreted that as soliciting advice for pirating it. The best part is, it was an American website so no one there would even have the game unless they obtained it through illicit means.

I was banned fom a wiki for seven months for creating an article. I was trying to be helpful, and the dumb cunt moderator decided the best course of action was "LOLZ BANZORZ." This was an article that was somewhat related to the wiki. I wrote an article on SCP-096 on the Slenderman wiki. I wrote it because SCP-096 was mentioned elsewhere on the wiki and I wanted to create a page it could link to. Those wiki people are weirdoes.

I was banned for two weeks from a CCG forum for "swearing" when I was 15 or so lol... I wouldn't even have done whatever I did if I had not observed my wonderful peers "swearing" on numerous occasions without repercussions. I'm usually very careful about unnecessarily exposing myself to consequences like that, much more so when I was younger, so that behavior was highly uncharacteristic of me. I'm positive it was lite swearing too, like self-censoring, conversational figure of speech, or simple cursing.

But that doesn't matter once you're lol-banned. I actually stayed banned for closer to a month because the moderators forgot about my ban--they probably never took note in the first place--and I almost didn't work up the resolve to PM a moderator to restore my privileges. That Internet community was, without question, the best community I have participated in, it received the greatest contributions from me of any community, and I eventually gained first-name recognition from some of its best members, for what it's worth...

I've also left a few burnt bridges in my wake, self-exiling from those communities out of bitterness and stubbornness, which has the same effect as a ban.

I was on a traditional art forum a few years back. One time the site owner permabanned me and 2 other users (including a mod) during a site update. We emailed him, and he said that he was testing the new site functions,
forgot about the bans, and then went to bed.

A lot of sites don't like being associated with the Foundation for some reason. Dr. Who sites really don't like it, especially when you point out that SCP-173 came before the Weeping Angels.

I agree, no way should you have been banned just for that.

I got banned from the Creepypasta wiki for about a day when I forgot to add one of my stories to a category or something stupid like that. They have some retarded zero-tolerance policy over there. If you forget to do it, BANHAMMER.

Damn that's a bit extreme (even if it was just a day). What's wrong with just telling you that you must add them to a category instead of banning you? That just sucks!

Oh! I got temp-banned from anidb.net for looking like a webcrawler. All I did was open ~10-15 tabs to check out anime and sort and filter a few tag lists. I believe that was a 24 hour ban compounded to 3-7 days as I kept trying to access the site, first to figure out what happened and if it was a mistake, and then to check if my ban was lifted...

I also got a 5 minute block or something from g.e-hentai.org, I think, and a warning for trying to open up all the pages from a 40 page doujin/comic in separate tabs. I was restricted to two simultaneous page loads for the rest of that session.

I can only assume my pipelining configurations in Firefox are "too aggressive", although that stuff should be fairly common now, IMO. Both felt like wrongful automated admin actions, but at least g.e-hentai was reasonable.

So, this is because you opened a bunch of tabs. What kind of retardation is that?

lmao, well that's a little anticlimactic. No drama, no misunderstandings, no accusations, no need to plead your case. Just 'oh yeah, I was randomly trying out stuff and then I forgot and went to bed'. The unexpectedly mundane and just plain humanness of that cracks me up.

Holy crap, hold on... you guys are saying you can get banned for having to many tabs open from the same website?! Wtf that's how I always open sites...

Paranoid bot, ddos, and bandwidth protection can see things like that as potential threads and nip it in the bud with a simple ban.

I once got banned a couple years ago from a HL2 a server because i killed people from under the map so they thought I was hacking.
Honestly, I found out a way to get there.

Around four years ago, I got banned from a SS13 server for naming a medibot "niggerfaggot"

I got temp banned from BD forums, not going into specifics because of same ownership and all, but it's the reason I left.
Still not happy about how I was treated.
